Bluetooth Pairing

basic

Overview

The HPVM and HPVM Pro connect to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth using the LF Audio AuralSync app, available on both iOS and Android. Pairing is quick and only needs to be done once — the app remembers your device for future sessions.

Before You Begin

  • Download the AuralSync app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  • Ensure your HPVM or HPVM Pro is powered on and showing its display.
  • Have your unique device PIN ready (see below for how to locate it).

Finding Your PIN

Each unit has a unique PIN code used to establish a secure encrypted Bluetooth connection.

From the unit display:

  1. Power on the unit (or power-cycle it).
  2. The PIN code is briefly shown at the top of the display during startup.
  3. If you missed it, power-cycle the unit — the PIN will appear again on the next startup. From the sticker on the unit:
  • Flip the unit over. A sticker on the back shows the unique PIN code for that specific device.

Pairing Step-by-Step

  1. Open the LF Audio AuralSync app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Tap the + (plus) button in the bottom-right corner of the app.
  3. The app will scan for nearby devices. Your unit will appear listed as LF_HPVM (or LF_HPVM-PRO for the Pro model).
  4. Tap on the device name to initiate pairing.
  5. A PIN entry prompt will appear. Enter the PIN code from your unit's display or back sticker.
  6. Tap Pair to confirm.
  7. Once paired, the app will display your unit's live voltage data and settings.

Android users: If the pairing prompt does not appear automatically, slide down your notification shade — the Bluetooth pairing request may appear there. On Samsung devices, you may need to accept the pairing request from the notification shade rather than from within the app.

Troubleshooting Pairing Issues

  • Device not appearing in scan — Ensure the HPVM is powered on and within range. Close and reopen the app and try scanning again.
  • Incorrect PIN error — Double-check the 6-digit numeric PIN from the unit's display or back sticker.
  • Previously paired but no longer connecting — Delete the device from the app's device list and re-pair from scratch. Also remove the device from your phone's system Bluetooth settings if it appears there.
  • App not requesting a PIN — Some Android versions handle the pairing prompt differently. Check your notification shade for a system-level Bluetooth pairing request.
