Overview
One of the most distinctive features of the HPVM and HPVM Pro is the depth of display customization available through the LF Audio AuralSync app. From gauge face styles to custom colors and voltage ranges, you can configure the display to match your system, your style, and your specific monitoring needs.
Accessing Display Settings
- Open the AuralSync app and ensure your HPVM is connected.
- Tap on your device in the device list to open its settings.
- Navigate to the Settings (gear icon) to access display and configuration options.
Gauge Face Options
The HPVM and HPVM Pro offer multiple gauge face designs. To change the active gauge face:
- Open the device settings in the AuralSync app.
- Select the Gauge or Display section.
- Scroll through the available gauge styles and tap to preview each one. The available gauge styles include:
- Graph + reading — A live scrolling voltage graph with the current voltage displayed above it. Color changes from green to yellow to orange to red as voltage drops.
- Large voltage only — Displays only the current voltage in large text; background color changes with voltage level.
- Graph with bottom scale — Scrolling graph with a voltage scale bar along the bottom, showing minimum and maximum voltage markers.
- Graph with side scale — Similar to above but with the scale on the side.
- Circular color ring — A colorful expanding/contracting ring animation that reacts to voltage level.
- Speedometer gauge — A traditional needle-style gauge face, similar to a car instrument cluster.
- Engineering/grid style — A clean, data-focused display preferred for precision monitoring.
- VU meter style — A retro floating bar meter inspired by classic audio equipment.
- 80s equalizer style — A retro bar-graph equalizer-inspired display with a vintage aesthetic. Added in firmware 1.2.
- Time-based moving average equalizer — A dynamic bar display driven by a rolling average of the last 10 voltage samples, giving a smooth, animated visualization of voltage trends. Added in firmware 1.2.Note
New gauge faces are added with firmware updates. Keep your unit updated via the AuralSync app to access the latest styles.
Decimal Precision Setting
Added in firmware 1.2, you can control how many decimal places are shown on the voltage reading — from 1 to 3. Reducing the number of decimal places can make the display less distracting while driving, while keeping all three provides the full lab-grade precision the HPVM is calibrated for.
To adjust decimal precision:
- Open the device settings in the AuralSync app.
- Find the Decimal Places (or Precision) setting.
- Select 1, 2, or 3 decimal places according to your preference.
Color and Voltage Threshold Settings
The HPVM display changes color based on voltage level to give you an at-a-glance indication of system health. These color thresholds are fully configurable:
- Set the voltage at which the display transitions from green → yellow → orange → red.
- Customize the specific colors used if the defaults don't suit your preference or install environment.
Brightness
Display brightness can be adjusted to suit your environment:
- Increase brightness for daytime visibility.
- Reduce brightness for night driving so the display doesn't distract or wash out your vision.
App UI
The AuralSync app interface is designed to surface only the controls relevant to your current context. As of firmware 1.2, buttons and options that are not currently available are clearly grayed out, making it easier to identify which settings are active and actionable at any given time.
