Overview
The Knob Management tab lets you view, pair, and manage the wireless knobs connected to your WVC base station. You can see each knob's connection status, firmware version, and hardware details — and trigger per-knob firmware updates.
The Knob Management tab requires firmware 3.6.0 or newer on your WVC. If you don't see this tab, update your firmware — see Firmware Updates.
Viewing Paired Knobs
- Connect to your WVC in the AuralSync app.
- Tap the gear icon to open device settings.
- Scroll to the Knob Management tab.
Each paired knob is listed with:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Knob type | Single Encoder, Dual Encoder, Concentric, Quad, or RTC |
| Connection status | Connected or offline, with signal strength |
| Firmware version | Current firmware running on the knob |
| Hardware version | Knob hardware revision |
Tap a knob entry to expand it and see additional details including manufacture date.
Adding a New Knob
To pair a new knob or RTC with your WVC:
- Tap Add Knob on the Knob Management tab.
- A pairing wizard opens with step-by-step instructions.
- On the new knob, perform a factory reset (this puts it into pairing mode).
- The app monitors for the pairing to complete and shows a success message.
During pairing, existing knob connections are temporarily paused. They will resume automatically once pairing completes.
For detailed pairing instructions, see the Knob Guide.
Removing a Knob
To unpair a knob from your WVC:
- Find the knob in the list.
- Tap the remove button.
- Confirm the removal.
The knob is de-registered and will no longer be able to control the base station. You can re-pair it at any time using the pairing process above.
Per-Knob Firmware Updates
If a firmware update is available for a specific knob, the app shows an update indicator on that knob's entry. Tap it to start the update — the firmware is transferred from your phone to the WVC base station, which then pushes it to the knob over the air.
The knob must be connected (online) to receive firmware updates. Keep the knob powered on and within range during the update.
