Account and Sign-In

basic

An LF Audio account ties your phones, your registered devices, your recording sessions, and your warranty / support tickets together under a single email address. The same account works in the AuralSync app and on the customer portal at app.lf-audio.com.

Signing in is free and unlocks:

  • Recording sessions: capture live data from any connected device and review it across phones and the web.
  • Device registry: every device you pair shows up under My devices, so you can keep notes, track warranty, and see firmware history.
  • Knob registry: every knob paired to your WVC also appears in the registry automatically.
  • Customer portal access: open app.lf-audio.com on any browser and sign in with the same account to view everything.
  • Support and warranty: file an RMA or chat with LF Audio directly from the Support tab.

You can use the AuralSync app without signing in to monitor and configure devices, but recording, sessions, account sync, and the Support tab require an account.

Where to Sign In

Open the Settings tab at the bottom of the app, scroll to the Account section, and choose one of the three sign-in options.

You will also see a one-time sign-in prompt the very first time you launch the app. You can skip that prompt and come back later; it does not affect anything else in the app.

Sign-In Options

Continue with Google

Tap Continue with Google and pick your Google account from the system picker. The app uses your verified Google email as your LF Audio account identifier. There is no separate password to remember.

Continue with Apple (iOS only)

On iPhone or iPad, tap Continue with Apple. Apple may offer to share your real email or to hide it behind a private relay address. Either choice works; the app uses whichever email address Apple returns as your LF Audio account identifier.

If you prefer not to use Google or Apple, enter your email address in the field and tap Send sign-in link. You receive an email from LF Audio with two options:

  1. One-tap link: open the email on the same phone, tap the link, and the app finishes sign-in automatically.
  2. 6-digit fallback code: if your phone or email client doesn't open the link in the app (most often on shared Android devices, or when the email is opened on a different device), the same email shows a 6-digit code. Enter it in the in-app sign-in screen and tap continue.
Tip

All three options reach the same underlying account if they share an email address. If you sign in with Google once and later sign in with the email magic link to the same address, you arrive at the same account.

Registering a Device to Your Account

Adding a device to your account is separate from pairing it. Pairing is a Bluetooth-level operation handled by your phone; registering links the device to your account so it appears on app.lf-audio.com.

When you first connect a new device after signing in, the app pops up a one-tap Add to your account? dialog. You can:

  • Add now: registers the device immediately. Recording, knob registry, and warranty all become available for that device.
  • Skip: dismisses the dialog. You can register the device later.

To register a device later (or if you skipped the prompt), open the device's monitoring screen and tap the cloud-upload icon at the top of the page. The icon is visible until the device has been registered to your account.

Note

Each device can only be registered to one account at a time. If someone else has already registered the device, you will see a message asking you to coordinate transfer with them. Contact LF Audio support if a device is stuck on another account that you do not control (for example, you bought it second-hand).

What Gets Synced

Once you are signed in:

Type Where it lives
Recording sessions Cloud, immediately. Available in the app and on app.lf-audio.com.
Registered devices Cloud. Visible in the app on this phone and on app.lf-audio.com.
Paired knobs Cloud (auto-fetched on connect). Visible alongside the device in the registry.
Channel names On the device itself (firmware 3.10.0+). Synced down from the app to the WVC + RTC + knobs.
Device aliases (custom names) On your phone and on the device. Each phone can set its own alias for a device.
App settings (units, decimals, theme) On your phone only. Not synced.

Signing Out

Open the Settings tab, scroll to the Account section, and tap Sign out. After sign-out:

  • Locally stored recording sessions remain on your phone and can be viewed offline, but new recordings cannot be started until you sign back in.
  • Registered-device lists and your support tickets are no longer fetched from the cloud until you sign back in.
  • You can still use the app to monitor and configure devices over Bluetooth.

Sign-out does not delete anything from your account. Sign back in (on the same phone or any other) to resume.
