Overview
Connecting the LF Audio app to your WVC base station uses Bluetooth, and your phone will ask for a pairing code the first time you connect.
That code is unique to your base station. It is not printed on the box, it is not a default like 0000 or 1234, and there is no code on a sticker. Your knob is where you read it.
This is the code for pairing your phone to the base station. Your knob does not need a code to talk to the base. Knobs and bases pair to each other automatically during setup, covered in the Quick Install Guide.
Where to find your pairing code
The knob reads the code from the base station and shows it to you.
- Long press the knob to open the menu.
- Rotate to Base Info and press to open it.
- Rotate down to BT Pin.
The six digits shown are your pairing code.
Base Info only appears in the menu when your knob is currently connected to a base station. If you do not see it, or you open it and see "Not yet connected", the knob has lost its link to the base. Bring the knob within range and wait for it to reconnect, then try again. If it still will not connect, see Troubleshooting.
Pairing your phone
- Power on the base station and make sure the knob is connected to it.
- Read the six-digit code from Base Info > BT Pin as above.
- Open the LF Audio app and let it find your base station.
- Your phone shows a Bluetooth pairing request asking for a code.
- Enter the six digits and confirm.
Your phone remembers the pairing, so you only do this once per phone.
Have an Android phone? A WDD-LITE or PRO knob can show your music app's songs. It needs its latest firmware, and so does your base station. In its Settings, set Playback to On. Then turn on Song list in the LF Audio app. See Song list.
Do you link more than one base station? Connect your phone to your primary base station. That is the one your display or PRO knob is paired with. The playback buttons and Song list work only through it.
Using More Than One Phone
A second phone can connect while the first one stays connected. Pair each phone once, with the same code.
Check Base Info > Hardware on your knob. On a Hardware 2.0 base station, older firmware hid the base station from other phones after a phone paired. It stayed hidden until that phone disconnected. Update the base station to its latest firmware. See Firmware Updates.
The playback buttons on your display or PRO knob reach every connected phone. With two phones connected, both can respond.

What else Base Info shows
The same screen is useful when contacting support, because it identifies your exact unit and what it is running.

To rename your base station, rotate to Name and press. A keyboard opens. Rotate to a key and press to type it. Rotate to the return arrow key and press to save. A name can be up to 15 characters. If pressing Name does nothing, or the old name comes back after a few seconds, update the base station. See Firmware Updates.
If you contact support about a base station, quoting the Unique ID and the firmware versions from this screen saves a round trip.
Common problems
The app cannot find my base station
Check that the base station is powered and that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. If your knob is showing volume changes, the base is running.
If your phone just lost its connection, wait a few seconds. On the latest firmware, the base station shows up again on its own. With older firmware, it could stay hidden for minutes, or until it was turned off and on.
My phone asks for a code but the knob does not show Base Info
Base Info is hidden until the knob is connected to a base station, because the code lives on the base and the knob only relays it. Get the knob reconnected first. The Quick Install Guide covers pairing a knob to a base.
The base station disappeared from Bluetooth after a firmware update
A firmware update can clear the stored pairing. Remove or forget the base station in your phone's Bluetooth settings, close the LF Audio app fully, then reopen it and pair again using the code from Base Info > BT Pin.

Remove & Re-pair in the app
If the LF Audio app cannot keep a steady connection, it shows a Connection Problem dialog. If the app can still reach the base station, its Remove & Re-pair button also erases the pairings stored on the base station. That is every phone's pairing, not just yours. On every phone, open your Bluetooth settings. If the base station is listed, tap it and choose Forget. That includes the phone you used, if it is an iPhone. Then pair each phone again with the code from Base Info > BT Pin.
On older base station firmware, the base station could keep its old pairings after Remove & Re-pair. The latest firmware fixes this.

My phone still cannot pair
Did you forget the base station on your phone, and it still cannot pair? Use Forget Phones. It removes every phone paired to your base station. You do not need a phone to use it.

Then do this on each phone:
- Open your phone's Bluetooth settings. Forget the base station.
- Close the LF Audio app fully. Then open it again.
- Pair again with the code from Base Info > BT Pin.
Good to know:
- It removes every phone. Each phone must pair again.
- Your knobs and displays stay paired. The code does not change.
- The base station needs firmware 4.20.0 or newer. Until then, a knob or display does not show Forget Phones. On the WVC-PRO 6 touchscreen, it says "Update the base station first." Your knob or display needs its latest firmware too.
- Do you link more than one base station? It clears only the one your knob or display is paired with. The others keep their phones.
- A phone with the LF Audio app may pair again by itself. So Forget Phones is for a phone that cannot pair. It does not keep out someone who knows the code.

Can I change the pairing code?
No. The code is generated once by your base station and stays the same for the life of the unit. There is no menu option to change it.
